Our Program
As a 501(c)(3) ASAP is committed to ensuring that beaches and associated essential services are accessible to individuals with disabilities, thereby enabling them to enjoy the therapeutic and recreational advantages of the sea and coastal communities. Our approach includes:
1. Collaborating with Coastal Communities and Private Sector Stakeholders to remove of physical barriers and enhance infrastructure to ensure seamless access to essential services and the beach for PwD.
2. Advocacy and Empowerment to champion the rights of people with disabilities, ensuring they have full access to essential services and beaches with dignity and respect.
3. Provide Specialized Aquatic Sports Services focused on adaptive diving, that caters to the specific needs of individuals with disabilities to support health, well-being, and achievement.
Our Story
Founded in 2025, The Accessible Sea and Aquatics Project (ASAP), in parternship with ASAP-Lebanon, has a mission to empower people with disabilities to live independently by accessing Lebanon’s beaches, aquatic sports, and associated essential services. ASAP works with private beach clubs, hotels, local governments, and communities to remove obstacles that prevent PwD from accessing the sea and associated essential services, build/refurbish accessible infrastructure, and tailor aquatic sport services to meet the needs of PwD. ASAP targets this population because Lebanon lacks the regulatory environment that provides services to PwD and protects their rights to live independently.
