Nrityenakatha, which means “storytelling through dance,” is dedicated to researching and showcasing rare Indian history and literature through Kuchipudi (Indian classical dance), elements of Garba/Raas (traditional folk dance), theater and film.
By sharing tales of powerful women leaders, unwavering faith transcending religious barriers, and knowledge buried in ancient educational texts, Nrityenakatha aims to bridge academics and performance, while embodying artistry.
These productions transport audiences to different ancient Indian eras through real-life dynamic backdrops, custom soundtracks set to Hindustani music, novel poetic dialogues and songs, and original choreography via a movie-like musical format.
Nrityenakatha Dance-Theater Co. is a fiscally sponsored project of the Allied Arts Foundation.
