Why Your Support Matters
Last week, the wife of a fellow Medway firefighter, experienced a sudden medical emergency and was transported by our ambulance crew to Milford Hospital. After further evaluation, she was transferred a few hours later to UMass Hospital, where doctors identified a mass in her brain. While the mass is presumed to be benign, definitive answers will not be known until surgery, which took place on Friday.
Regardless of the outcome, she is expected to face a significant recovery and will be out of work for quite some time. This is an incredibly frightening and uncertain moment for the Tracy family as they navigate this situation while caring for their three young children. Between time away from work, travel between hospitals, medical expenses, and the emotional toll, the burden is heavy.
The fire service is built on taking care of our own — not just on the fireground, but in moments like this. This fundraiser is intended to help ease some of the financial strain so Katie and Brian can focus on what matters most: her recovery and being together as a family.
