No ordinary Tuesday

Families in our community are losing everything to the flooding, and Fire Remedy Mission has been doing everything possible to keep up with the emergency requests coming in. Every day we’re meeting people who have had to leave their homes with only what they could carry. Some are sleeping in their cars. Some have pets they can’t feed. Some have kids who are scared and cold. These families are turning to us because they have nowhere else to go for help. Fire Remedy Mission is a small nonprofit that we’ve been building with our own hands. We fund this work out of our own pockets and while raising our own children. We don’t have a big budget or government funding. What we do have is a commitment to show up for people who are hurting. That’s why we’ve been responding to every request we can, even as the situation gets harder. A lot of people have been asking why we’re flooding when we sit on a hill. The answer is the water table. It has risen so high that the ground can’t drain anything anymore. Water is pushing up from below, pooling around the property, and making it impossible to stay ahead of the damage. Even with the elevation, we’re dealing with flooding both inside and outside, all while serving families who are going through the same thing on a much larger scale. Because of this, we are in urgent need of supplies. When people reach out for help, we want to be able to give them something real and immediate. Anything you donate goes directly to families who request help.
