Florial Farm

Through the integration of agriculture, performance, and public green space, Florial Farm will serve as a unique asset for King County: a place where land is stewarded, artists are supported, and community is cultivated, one bloom and one performance at a time.

Imagine settling onto a blanket in a lush, blooming garden in the heart of Seattle’s Central District. Around you are friends, neighbors and families watching local aerial artists performing. This is the vision of Florial Farm, a non-profit flower farm and community event space dedicated to performing arts, where art, nature and community can come together.

Florial Farm’s primary public programming will feature performing arts events from May through October, including biweekly performances (approximately 12 events each summer) and weekly artist jams. Each public event will welcome up to 250 attendees and showcase a wide range of disciplines, including aerial arts, dance, live music, yoga, and movement-based performance. By collaborating with local producers and performance groups, Florial will curate a diverse, family-friendly season that reflects the creativity and cultural richness of our region.

In addition to serving as a performance venue, Florial Farm will operate as a working urban flower farm, open daily for the public to enjoy. Community members will be invited to stroll through the gardens, pick their own bouquets, purchase flowers and seeds, and experience the beauty of horticulture in an accessible urban setting. While a flower farm and a performance venue may seem like separate ideas, together they ensure that the space is always alive with activity. Most farms are located in rural areas, limiting access for urban residents eager to experience horticulture. At the same time, many performance venues struggle with financial viability and sit empty during the day. By combining these two concepts, Florial provides more services to King County residents, generates diverse income streams, and supports local artists with sustainable, livable wages.

This vision is already taking root. In 2025, Florial Farm began hosting monthly artist meetups in a backyard garden setting, bringing together local aerialists, dancers, and movement-based artists for skill sharing, practice, and community building. We hosted five gatherings over the summer with approximately 50 artists participating. These events quickly became a treasured creative resource and demonstrated Florial’s potential as a long-term cultural hub. As a formal organization, Florial will expand these meetups to weekly gatherings during the summer season (May–October), deepening collaboration and strengthening the local arts ecosystem.

Florial Farm is led by a collective of local artists who have produced numerous shows and festivals, created installations, and collectively performed hundreds of times across the region. Recognizing the urgent need for accessible, affordable performance space, this group launched Florial Farm to fill a critical gap in the cultural landscape while also expanding access to nature, farming, and community gathering.
