Support Smokey's recovery

Smokey J. is a handsome community cat who we assisted in getting neutered and a rectal prolapse repair via a purse string procedure in March 2025.  Due to recurring prolapses today he had a colopexy, and once recovered will have a forever (inside) home.

History:

Smokey is a 2 year old Grey Domestic Long haired cat living in a colony in Hancock County who we met in the spring of 2025.  His caretakers reported that he had a history of rectal prolapse that would come and go.  Through teamwork he was neutered, but was not prolapsed so he was returned home.  A few weeks later he prolapsed again, and had a 'purse string' procedure performed to create scar tissue to help hold rectal tissue where it belongs.  However, this fall his caretakers reached out again to let us know that he had prolapsed again, and was being very skittish.  He was collected taken to the vet, where his prolapse was resolved and he got to hang out for the day.
He has been held inside and dewormed and doing great.  However, after determining it was time to go home to his caretaker, who would be keeping him as an indoor cat, we found that he had prolapsed once again and returned to the clinic this morning 11/25/2025 and a colopexy was performed to tack his rectal tissue to the abdominal wall. He is now back in foster care for recovery.

Please donate today to help pay for Smokey's procedure and care so he can go home a healthy and happy boy.

Funds raised over Smokey's bill will be used to pay down Biscuit Factory's medical bill at Low Cost Spay and Neuter - Noblesville
