Help us build a brighter future for our youth!
Let's make the Play Yard a reality!
A Safe Play Space for St. John’s Youth!
The Play Yard Project is a $1.5 million campaign to transform our outdoor space into a vibrant, youth-designed hub with a basketball court, fitness equipment, a movie screen, shaded seating, and garden beds. A place to grow, play, and belong.
Thanks to early supporters, we’ve raised nearly $300,000, but we still need $357,000 to begin Phase I. Your gift today will help close this gap and bring this vision to life, showing every young person at St. John’s that they are valued, supported, and capable of extraordinary things.
About our mission
St. John’s was founded in 1826, as a home for orphaned children, and has evolved into a nonprofit social services agency providing residential care to New York City youth up to age 21 who are involved in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems.

"A play yard would help us stay active and deal with our emotions in a positive way. For a lot of us this program is a second chance, and having a space like this would help us stay on the right path. "
- Roberto, a youth at St. John’s
