The Residence Renewal Project

This Giving Tuesday, you can help transform the place where independence begins.

We’re raising $200,000 to enhance the Carroll Center’s residential dorms — the home where our clients gain confidence, practice essential skills, and build lifelong friendships.

The Carroll Center Residential Experience

Our two on-campus residences are a cornerstone of our services. For up to 20 weeks, individuals who are blind or visually impaired live here while they rebuild critical life skills and rediscover what’s possible. These spaces become their community, their comfort, and their launchpad to independence.

Major Upgrades Underway

As part of our $24 million Generations Campaign, we are investing
$200,000 in The Residence Renewal Project to modernize both dorms with new lighting and flooring, updated kitchens and bathrooms, redesigned common areas, technology enhancements, and wellness benefits.

Your Giving Tuesday Impact

Our goal is to raise
$10,000 on Giving Tuesday to fund two essential pieces of this larger project:

Technology & Accessibility: Google Home devices, accessible lighting, audiobook access, and wireless charging — giving clients hands-on experience with tools that will support their independence when they return home.

Wellness & Community Integration:
Local YMCA memberships that help clients stay active, build confidence, and explore their community — skills that can be life-changing long after they leave campus.

With your support, we can create functional, welcoming, and accessible living spaces that support independence, foster community, and improve the overall residential experience.
