Formerly homeless MCCH program participants are facing a new crisis:
a sudden loss of $12,000 in SNAP food benefits every single week across 325 households.
Without that support, families are forced to skip meals, cut back on nutrition, and make impossible choices that threaten the stability they’ve worked so hard to achieve.
A note from MCCH's CEO, Jen Schiller
Two things humans cannot live without: food and housing.
Right now, both are at risk, but the immediate threat is food.
On Sunday, November 1st, federal SNAP benefits (food stamps) will disappear for millions of Americans, including 325 formerly homeless families and individuals living in MCCH housing programs.
I want to make sure MCCH can step in to fill this gap when these essential resources vanish. Our direct care team, working across all 12 of MCCH’s supportive housing programs are in the community every day to help people stay in their homes and access essentials like food.
Will you join me in keeping food on their tables this week?
