Adelante's has been making a difference in our community since 1978, starting with six people with autism. Today, our nonprofit has a positive impact on over 80,000 people across New Mexico including people with a variety of disabilities, seniors, and people who are facing hardships.
Adelante has been able to grow and respond to community needs thanks to donors like you. Your gift today could help someone with a disability learn life skills in the community, find a job, live independently, or get a computer for school and work. Your generosity could help local seniors get access to the food or wheelchairs they need. With your help, we can move New Mexico forward, on person and one resource at a time.
Mobilizing Help
Back in Use provides wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, and hospital beds to over 1,500 people with disabilities and seniors each year. We take in donations of these items, make sure they are safe and clean and give them away to people who need them. Insurance usually won’t cover these items, but they are life changing for the people who get them – offering independence and the chance to be part of the community again. Your donations make this work possible.
Connecting to Resources
DiverseIT provides free computers for people with disabilities and local nonprofits. The program also is helping bridge the digital divide in New Mexico by providing computer training from the basics to IT career certifications to help people get into today’s workforce and use a computer safely and effectively. We are also helping the IT career pipeline to represent the breadth and culture of New Mexico. Your gifts help more people get the tech they need.
Furnishing Hope
GiveABQ is a community furniture bank that takes donations of furniture and housewares and provides them to people who have been unhoused. Furniture makes a house a home and provides greater stability to help people move forward toward employment or education. A simple kitchen table becomes a place to eat, do homework, or share family time. Not only does GiveABQ help address the growing problem of homelessness, it is creating brighter futures for local families.
