GBMC is celebrating 60 years of caring for the community.
Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) opened in 1965 from the merger of the Presbyterian Eye, Ear & Throat Charity Hospital and the Women’s Hospital. GBMC has delivered accessible, compassionate, expert care right here at home. This milestone year, as we honor the Visionary Women whose leadership shaped our past and present, we invite you to make a tax‑deductible year‑end gift.
Your support sustains vital operations and patient services, fuels innovative care models and community health programs, and keeps GBMC proudly independent—guided by our mission.
With you, we’ll shape the future of care—one patient, one family, one community at a time.
Here are a few ways your generosity can support GBMC!
GBMC's Area of Greatest Need: When you make a gift to support GBMC's area of greatest need, you are supporting our efforts to continue our vision to provide the care that we would want for our own loved ones, to every patient, every time.
Berman Cancer Institute: Your donation can help remove barriers to care and fund services not covered by insurance such as transportation and massage therapy.
Women's Center: The Women's Center at GBMC is bringing subspecialty expertise together in a collaborative space. Your gift allows our team to provide care that revolves around our patients through every stage of life.
GBMC Ophthalmology: A patient-centered practice delivering comprehensive care across the lifespan. Your donation can support a new space for our patients and care team with state of the art equipment.
GBMC Wound Center: About 800 patients per month rely on our wound center for specialized care. Many patients come from underserved communities. GBMC is renovating and relocating the space to include ground level access, larger treatment rooms and improved emergency response.
