LUKE HAS CANCER

SRF rescue group (the rescue group of the NFP organization St Rocco foundation), has rescued  Luke from being killed at the age of four month old by the kill facility of Big Spring, Texas. (We use the term kill facility to all open admission dog shelters all across the USA).  Luke's loving fosters, located in the East coast, have decided to be very cautious with who we adopt Luke out to, due to him being a black "scary" dog, leaving him and sister Nella in a long term foster care, while four other siblings are adopted long ago. Sadly, albeit all the love Luke has received from his amazing fosters, Luke has been diagnosed lately with cancer, after an entire month of diagnostic tests which the fosters relentlessly carried out: And so- Luke is being treated now by Dr. Edwin Brodsky, a board certified veterinary specialist in the field of Oncology, at VMCLI in Long Island, NY. The journey of fighting cancer is costly and sets our fundraising goal at 15,000 USD, from which only the diagnostic process has already cost around the 8K USD. By mid June, Luke's blood test showed high levels of Calcium, a finding which can be related to several medical conditions. Thanks to the unique loyalty and dedication of our fosters to dog rescue in general and to Luke in particular- an accurate diagnosis has been achieved, after an entire month where multiple blood tests, ultrasounds, imaging and visits to various clinics took place, in a truly heroic trial and error process. Fosters did not give up, did not settle, until a solid diagnosis was received. An accurate diagnosis is always a fundamental key for effective treatment, and with such a dramatic journey presenting love and loyalty to a rescued dog, we plea for your kind help and generosity- no amount is ever too small. Kindly bare in mind that we cannot do this without you, and  that your help will mean the world to all of us at the SRF organization, the fosters and Luke himself of course.  So how will your donation be used? It will go towards the coverage of already paid exams (past),  as well as Chemotherapy treatments scheduled by Dr Brodsky to be performed every two weeks.  We will be happy to share receipts and medical documents with donors, and of course keep you updated every two weeks following together Luke's progress, in an already planned 6 months cancer fight protocol dictated by Dr. Brodsky. We will be sharing medical documents, pictures, videos and receipts upon request.
