Our Work
Formally established as a 501c3 in 2003, Latino Economic Development Center’s (LEDC’s) mission is to transform our community by creating economic opportunities for Latinos and immigrants. We envision a region and state with a thriving multicultural community, enriched with diverse leadership, culture, and economic influence.
LEDC offers a continuum of services for Latinos and immigrants seeking economic opportunity primarily through small business ownership: from one-on-one technical assistance for those ready to develop a business plan to lending for those needing capital to launch or grow their business. LEDC is a statewide organization, with just over 80% of our clients headquartered in the Twin Cities metro area, and the remaining almost 20% located in Greater Minnesota.
Help Close a Loan
So far this year, we’ve lent over $2 million to Minnesota small businesses — 13% of our total lending since inception. With your support, our loan officers can keep fueling Latino and immigrant small businesses with the affordable capital and business advising they need to grow and thrive.
Workshop Support
Help us cover the cost of an entrepreneur to attend one of our Business Development workshops! From business succession planning to finance, legal, HR, technology, and industry regulations, we give both new and established entrepreneurs the timely tools they need to succeed.
Aid Agriculture Businesses
Latino and immigrant farmers are ready to grow thriving businesses, expand land access, and bring fresh, culturally relevant food to communities across our region. With your support, we can break down barriers and strengthen the local food system for everyone.

Matching Gifts
You may be able to double the impact of your gift through your workplace’s Matching Gift Program. Many Minnesota employers offer this benefit — check to see if your company participates.
Donor Advised Fund (DAF)
Looking for a simple way to make your generosity go further? A Donor Advised Fund lets you maximize your giving while supporting the causes you care about. You can set one up through a community foundation or financial services company, then easily recommend gifts to LEDC.
