Keep Guanacaste’s Dance Traditions Alive

Guanacaste’s soul shines through its traditions — the music, the stories, the food, and the dances that bring people together. Our dance groups ensure that these dances remain part of our community. Help us raise $5,000 to support the David Kitson Library’s three folkloric dance groups—children, adolescents, and adults. Your gift will cover one year of weekly choreography practices with Kevin, our highly respected folkloric dance instructor, and provide new traditional outfits and accessories. Together, we can keep our culture alive for the next generation.

About Our Folkloric Dance Groups

The David Kitson Library proudly supports three folkloric dance groups: children, adolescents, and older adults. These dancers represent our community at school events, Independence Day celebrations, and other national holidays, sharing the beauty of Guanacaste’s traditions through dance.

We are raising $5,000 to cover one year of expenses:
$2,000 for one year of weekly choreography practices with Kevin, a trained folkloric choreographer and instructor.
$3,000 for new traditional outfits and accessories—the children have outgrown theirs, the teens are a brand-new group, and the adults’ costumes have become worn from years of use.

In a time when we are at risk of seeing our cultural traditions fade away, these programs offer children and families a wholesome way to stay connected to our heritage, while bringing joy and pride to the community. With your support, we can keep Guanacaste’s folkloric dance alive and flourishing for all generations.
