together, home is possible
Habitat Day of Giving is a powerful reminder of what this community can do together.
We’ve hit our $200,000 goal! Your generosity fuels critical repairs that keep families safe and healthy in their homes, without compromise.
Margaret and Anthony are just two of the 200 families we will serve through our repair program this year. Be sure to take a few moments to watch their stories and see the impact of your support.
From them, and from us — thank you.
To build and repair more homes alongside Philadelphia families, make a donation to our annual fund.
To join the movement with a verbal pledge, please reach out to Megan Poli, Donor Relations Manager at meganp@habitatphiladelphia.org or (215) 309-7270.
Ms. Margaret's Home Repair
Ms. Margaret has owned her home in Grays Ferry for nearly 40 years. She called Habitat to repair her bathroom and increase accessibility. Our team found much more was needed.
Watch as she shares the powerful and personal impact of critical home repairs and what it has meant for her to experience a home that is safe, stable and whole again.
Anthony's Home Repair
Anthony, a devoted father of five, bought his renovated West Philadelphia rowhome 18 months ago. Hidden behind the new walls was a danger — carbon monoxide from an old furnace.
Thankfully, a serious health crisis was averted, and a newly installed furnace means Anthony's family can breathe easy and enjoy their home with peace of mind.

Health and Home Repairs
Health starts in the home. Poor home conditions—such as lead and mold exposure, water leakage and bad air quality—are directly tied to residents’ poor health outcomes.
Habitat Philadelphia has placed renewed emphasis on improving health through housing as we expand our home repair program in extent and scope. In fiscal year 2025, our team completed a record 150 home repairs, bringing the all-time total to more than 1,100. Now, we’re introducing health assessments for every repair we perform to better understand the holistic impact of home repairs for homeowners. Learn more.
A New Partnership Model for Home Repair
Across Philadelphia, families are living in homes that are falling apart. Leaking roofs, broken systems and unsafe conditions put health and stability at risk.
A recent Washington Post article described this as a national crisis: “Homeowners are increasingly struggling to maintain and repair aging homes that are withering, crumbling, and forcing homeowners to exist in almost unlivable conditions.”
In Kensington, Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia is responding through a partnership with the Philadelphia Energy Authority (PEA) and New Kensington Community Development Corporation (NKCDC). Learn more.
