About the McCullough Library
Equity and Sustainability Fund
In early 2023, the John G McCullough Free Library embarked on a $500,000 fundraising challenge. A $1,250,000 gift from an anonymous donor established the McCullough Library Equity and Sustainability Fund with the Vermont Community Foundation.
Your gift to our $500,000 challenge goal will bring this fund to $1,750,000. All income from this fund supplements the Library's operating budget and is earmarked exclusively for library staff salaries and benefits.
The McCullough Library Equity and Sustainability Fund has already had a positive impact on our community. Recent improvements include:
-The Library is open 10 more hours each week.
-Increased staffing led to an increased capacity for partnerships with schools and other cultural organizations, resulting in a robust schedule of enthusiastically attended events.
-A dramatic increase (43%) in the number of items borrowed.
Your gift will ensure the library’s vitality well into our shared future, and is deeply appreciated.
