About The JoAnne Gronley Endowment Fund
Dr. JoAnne K. Gronley, PT, DPT, was a trailblazing leader in rehabilitation research and physical therapy. With a career spanning military service, biomechanics research, and clinical mentorship, Dr. Gronley left an indelible mark on Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center and the broader field of rehabilitation. From her early work in the U.S. Army to her pivotal role in the Pathokinesiology Laboratory at Rancho, JoAnne embodied excellence, integrity, and compassion. Her expertise in gait and movement analysis, orthotics and prosthetics, and human anatomy helped shape the science and practice of modern rehabilitation. As a mentor and teacher, Dr. Gronley influenced generations of clinicians and researchers, always with her unmatched anatomical knowledge, fierce intellect, and generous spirit. In honor of her extraordinary legacy, the JoAnne Gronley Fund has been established to support the next generation of leaders in rehabilitation research and practice.
Fund Purpose
The JoAnne Gronley Fund is dedicated to continuing Dr. Gronley’s life’s work by supporting innovative pilot research projects in physical therapy and biomechanics, advancing education and scholarship opportunities for aspiring physical therapists, rehabilitation researchers, engineers, and clinicians, promoting the dissemination of groundbreaking research through conference participation, publications, and digital platforms, and sustaining mentorship and leadership development programs in the spirit of JoAnne’s legacy.
