Capt. Andrew Porter, a 25 year veteran of the Rockport Fire Department, loving husband and devoted father to 2 children under the age of 5, passed away unexpectedly on Memorial Day.
Capt. Porter was mowing the lawn when his wife and youngest daughter heard the mower stop. They looked outside to see him laying on the ground. Despite their best efforts, the Gloucester Fire Department was unable to save him.
