Shot in the Face, but Not Broken: Help Us Heal Rhett

Help Animals Like Rhett

Rhett came to us in late March with devastating injuries. The front of his lower jaw was shattered, leaving him in unimaginable pain. When our veterinary team examined him, they confirmed the unthinkable: someone had shot this sweet, trusting soul in the face.

While the bullet cause major physical damage, it missed his spirit. Despite everything he had endured, Rhett met us with nothing but gentleness—purring through the pain and leaning into every soft touch. Even after all the cruelty he faced, he never gave up on people, so we couldn't give up on him.

Our veterinary team rushed him into surgery. With expert care, they stabilized what remained of his jaw and started him on the long road to recovery. Incredibly, just 24 hours after his first surgery, Rhett began drinking on his own and eating with a bit of help.

After multiple surgeries and specialized care from our clinic team and his amazing foster home, Rhett's journey with us ended the way we all hoped: he was adopted by a loving family in June 2025.

Rhett's story is powerful, but not unique. Donate to the medical fund, and help rewrite the script for animals with medical needs.
