Help Animals Like Junior
When Junior arrived at the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA, his gentle eyes showed both fear and hope. This roaming hound had spent too long fending for himself, searching for kindness, warmth, and safety.
While wandering alone, Junior’s front paw became trapped; in what, we may never know. In a desperate fight to survive, he endured unimaginable pain to free himself, leaving his paw and lower leg mangled beyond repair.
Rushed to emergency care and later treated by our veterinary team, Junior underwent a full leg amputation to save his life. Thanks to their skill—and his incredible will to live—he’s now recovering surrounded by love, warmth, and gentle hands.
Junior’s road to recovery will be long, but his spirit shines through every step. He faces ongoing pain management, wound care, and healing—and your support makes that possible.
Junior’s story is not unique. Donate to the CASPCA Medical Fund and help give animals like him the chance to heal and find their second chance.
Will you help us be ready for the next Junior?
