This year, with your support, we did something we've wanted to do for a long time: open a media center in a women's facility. After years of writing to San Quentin News, asking to be a part of the narrative, the women in Central California Women's Facility completed our journalism guild training program and launched their own newspaper, CCWF Paper Trail.
Each month, they write stories that inform their peers on new policies, shed light on their successes, and provide an inside look into the once hidden world of prison. But even more importantly, the newspaper serves as a vehicle to humanize those who have been marginalized for far too long.
Pollen Initiative is dedicated to cultivating media centers like this one in prisons across the country. But we need your help to do it. Our next stop: Pelican Bay State Prison.
