Our Community. Our Future.

Your generosity can help us achieve something truly transformative: funding our new six-floor tower.

This expansion will bring all-private rooms, expanded care, and state-of-the-art innovation to Shady Grove Medical Center, ensuring we’re ready to care for you, your loved ones, and your neighbors when it matters most.

Erin's Story

In the fall of 2020, Erin experienced severe preeclampsia, requiring an emergency cesarean section to deliver her twin girls, Charlotte and Olivia, at just 30 weeks. The twins were so tiny, so fragile, but they received extraordinary care in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Tragically, Olivia developed an infection and passed away at just 20 days old. However, the care team acted quickly, treating Charlotte with the same medication they’d given Olivia, saving her life. Today, Charlotte is a thriving preschooler, and Erin’s family has grown to include a baby boy.

Stories like Erin’s remind us why Shady Grove is so vital to our community. But we need your help to continue providing this life-changing care.

Larry's Story

I couldn't even walk through the door when I arrived at Shady Grove Medical Center by ambulance. The chest pain was unbearable, and I was terrified. Within minutes, the medical team at Shady Grove confirmed I was having a heart attack. They quickly cleared the blocked artery and inserted a stent. However, the blockage had triggered an abnormal heart rhythm, and the response team needed to use the defibrillator paddles. Thanks to their expertise and speed, my life was saved that day. It wasn’t just their medical skill—it was their compassion that carried me through the darkest moments.

From the nurses holding my hand in the ICU to the physical therapists encouraging me to take my first steps after surgery, the team at Shady Grove became my lifeline. This is what a local community hospital is all about.

Today, I’m back home with my family, able to celebrate the moments I thought I’d never see again. I want to say thank you to the team at Shady Grove and to the people in this community who support the hospital. Without you, I wouldn’t be here today.

Your generosity makes a real difference. I’m living proof of that. Thank you for helping save my life. - Larry B. (Rockville, MD)
