About Behind the Book
Behind the Book nurtures young minds through vibrant literacy programs that bring diverse stories and authors and hands-on workshops to K-12 classrooms. Since 2003, we have worked in over 1,000 classrooms, served more than 25,000 students, and donated more than 123,000 books to the communities we serve in NYC.
What Your Donation Funds:
$10,900 funds a full program for a whole classroom
$3,900 brings an author to 5 classrooms for an inspiring visit
$1,080 will fund new books for 3 classrooms in an under-resourced school
$720 will fund new books for 2 classrooms in an under-resourced school
$360 funds new books for an entire classroom in an under-resourced school
