Providence Epicurean Scholarship Society

The Providence Epicurean Scholarship Society is a distinguished group of philanthropists making a difference in our students’ academic journeys. By becoming a member, society members enjoy a unique culinary experience curated by celebrated chefs, sommeliers and restaurateurs along with our very own students of the College of Food Innovation & Technology, while also giving back in support of JWU students in the form of scholarships spanning all colleges at Johnson & Wales University. Established in 2015, the society has awarded over $172,000 to deserving JWU students in Providence.

"The members of our Epicurean Society support JWU's highest priority—student success. Their commitment to the education of our students is incomparable and we appreciate their decision to ensure that our students can focus on achieving their dreams," - Mim L. Runey, LP.D., Chancellor of Johnson & Wales.

“This scholarship greatly aids my ability to continue to attend school. I’m paying for a large part of the tuition myself and as a full-time student trying to make ends meet, I appreciate every dollar so much! I hope to open my own fully sustainable restaurant after college, with its own garden and composting system, etc. Johnson & Wales is helping me guide my passion for cooking into real knowledge of the trade and how to successfully run a business.” - Hazel Nelson ’26, College of Food Innovation & Technology
