Every child deserves the chance to share their voice and create positive change.
Our Model United Nations program cultivates the leadership, critical thinking, and advocacy skills of youth leaders from Chicago's West and South sides. Through hands-on learning experiences, our program amplifies student voices to create positive change in our local and global communities.
What began as a single-team effort in 2018 has evolved into a thriving program, expanding to serve students at all four KIPP Chicago middle school campuses. This year, we have our largest group of participants in program history, providing more than 80 students with the opportunity to engage in global issues, practice diplomacy, and develop leadership skills. This expansion reflects the growing interest and success of the program, as students from every school are now preparing to represent Chicago on the local and international stage, reinforcing KIPP Chicago’s commitment to nurturing global citizens.
Building on the succeess of last year's delegation of 40 students at the Global Classroom International Middle School Model UN Conference in New York City, we're looking forward to deepening our presence and impact. As the sole representatives from Chicago, our students made an indelible mark, sharing their voices and ideas with other middle-schoolers from around the world. With our program's remarkable growth, we're eager to send talented delegates from all four KIPP Chicago schools back to New York City in April 2025.
