URGENT - Nosara Recicla needs your help to continue operations

Thanks to our generous donors, the Phase 1 goal of $16,800 is COMPLETED. In December we purchased three recycling machines: a Mega Glass Breaker, a Bale Stacker, and a Steel Drum Handler.
Phase 2 – Now, we are raising $20,600 for a new, durable multi-purpose baler machine, Orwak Power 3325 Compactor.
Nosara Recycling Center needs your help to buy this NEW COMPACTOR to meet the growing recycling demand in Nosara – now and into the future.
Your donation is a long-term investment in our community. Help protect our environment and make Nosara a model of sustainability for Guanacaste and Costa Rica.
Please support Nosara Recicla so we can continue to keep plastic off the street, and out of the jungle and ocean.

For over 15 years, Nosara Recicla, Nosara’s non-profit recycling center, has kept plastic and other materials off the streets, and out of the ocean and rivers by providing comprehensive recycling services and sustainability education to the greater Nosara community, all on a limited budget and without modern equipment.
Our antiquated machinery is failing, becoming unsafe to use, and preventing normal operations.
The new equipment will more than double our processing efficiency and overall capacity, while significantly improving staff safety; This new reliable equipment will last for decades.
We are fundraising in three phases:
Phase 1 - $16,800 - COMPLETED
This equipment includes an Orawk Mega Jaws Glass Breaker, Bishamon Manuel Stacker, and Steel Drum Handler. We received this new equipment on Monday, Dec. 9th.
Phase 2 - $20,600 for a new multi-purpose baler machine, the Orwak Power 3325 Compactor, which compacts multiple types of recyclable material, including plastic bottles and bags, metal, cardboard, and TetraPaks.
Phase 3 - To extend the roof and reorganize the layout of the recycling center to improve processing efficiency, establish an educational area for community workshops, and beautify and enhance the safety of the recycling center’s entrance for dropping off materials.
