ABOUT PASC
PASC (progressiveartstudiocollective.org) was launched in January 2021 as the first progressive art and design studio, and exhibition program, in Detroit and Wayne County, dedicated to supporting artists with developmental disabilities and mental health differences to advance independent artistic practices and build individual career paths in the art and design fields.
We run three studios and two art galleries in Detroit, Westland and Southgate and support over 190 artists with disabilities.
PASC covers all art materials, overhead and gallery representation. Our staff is comprised of professional artists, curators and designers, who provide advice and guidance (when desired by the participant) to support each individuals professional practice.
Each year we produce an average of 10 internal exhibitions and 3-4 external exhibitions, in local and national art spaces, galleries and museums. In just under 4 years our artist's artwork has been shown at such notable institutions as Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD), The Scarab Club, Reyes | Finn Gallery, and Cranbrook Art Museum.
PASC is a program of Services to Enhance Potential (STEP) a non-profit service organization, founded in 1972, that provides services and supports for 1400+ individuals with disabilities and mental health differences in Southeastern Michigan.
