JRC HOSPITAL EXPANSION
The JRC Veterinary Hospital is in dire need of an expansion!
Every year, we rescue 5% more animals than the last, and our current facility is stretched to its limit. To keep up with the growing need, we must expand now. Our dedicated team is ready, but we need your help to provide the lifesaving care these animals deserve.
Why is our Veterinary Hospital essential?
- The hospital is equipped with a wide range of tools for animal care.
- As the sole rescue center in the region, we admit animals rescued by our team, the authorities and the local community.
- Additionally, we maintain a comprehensive database with clinical information on all rescues since 2014, which allows us to track the health history of each animal, enhancing the effectiveness of our rehabilitation efforts.
- Our veterinary team consists of 6 to 7 professionals that is headed by the lead veterinarian and supported by other veterinarians, students, and assistants. Together, they work tirelessly to care for the animals and ensure their recovery, making our hospital an essential resource for wildlife conservation in the area.
Our Work
For over 15 years, the Jaguar Rescue Center has been at the forefront of rescuing, rehabilitating, and rewilding Costa Rica's wildlife. Our veterinary hospital is the only one serving the Atlantic zone of Costa Rica, making us the sole rescue center in this vital region.
Our Goals
As the number of rescued animals continues to grow by 5% annually, we need to be prepared to offer the best possible care, ensuring these animals can be returned to their natural habitats.
For this campaign, we aim to:
- Expand our impact in the Atlantic zone of Costa Rica by providing better care to possibly more than 1,200 rescued animals.
- Equip the hospital with new medical equipment and spaces, keeping us at the forefront of wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.
- Strengthen strategic alliances with partners to contribute to new scientific research.
