This school year, failing yeshivas across New York know they’re running late to class and the bell has already rung: if they don't have a substantially equivalent curriculum in place by the end of this school year, they'll lose their classification as a school and should be cut off from public funding. Because of our successful pressure for these changes, we're seeing a vigorous lobby attempt to delay or entirely undo statewide regulations over nonpublic schools from those who do not want children to learn English, math, history, and science.

YAFFED and our supporters have led the fight for educational rights by telling our legislators to keep these accountability measures in place so that students can get the education they're entitled to.

We've come this far and fought too hard to see this good work be threatened now.
