During the peak of his successful career, Brian Dowden began to experience unusual cognitive and behavioral symptoms. In the fall of 2023, Brian was diagnosed with FTD – he was 45. Brian now lives with his mother and now care partner, Dory, as he needed more daily support.
Through AFTD’s Comstock Grant program, they could access much-needed financial assistance to adapt to Brian’s new living arrangements and increasing medical expenses. A gift of $500 can fund one grant to directly support one person with an FTD diagnosis or a care partner, while any amount can support all on this journey.
Bringing help & hope to all affected by FTD.
Your gift enables us to:
- Support people, like Brian, who are living with the disease.
- Educate healthcare professionals and policymakers for more accurate diagnosis and improved services.
- Raise vital awareness.
- Advance research to bring forward the first disease-modifying treatments.
Together, we are empowered to #endFTD.
