This Giving Tuesday, Give Hope to Julee 🎉
Every dollar brings us closer to her victory over cancer!
This year my birthday actually falls on Giving Tuesday! For my bday I would like to ask for your help in helping me to help my best friend Julee.
At the beginning of this year Julee was diagnosed with multiple types of cancer and began the battle. It’s had ups and downs throughout the process but she is currently winning the fight.
The main tragedy here is our medical system. Where normally these treatments would be covered, Julee slipped through the cracks being between insurance plans and was unable to get any coverage. Her medical bills quickly grew to over $15,000 as she exhausted savings and maxed credit cards to continue her battle. The idea of her going through this already difficult struggle for her health COUPLED with the financial burden was too much for me to sit idly by and I knew I had to do something. I began a series of Eff Cancer benefits to raise funds, but with respect to her privacy, I kept her name confidential.
Through the support of some of her friends and colleagues from the radio station, Parkside Tap House, The North Valley Community Fund and the public’s generous donations, we were able to raise over $8k! This was a great start but really only got us halfway to our goal.
Now to make matters worse, she’s been let go from the job she’s had for over a decade, that was supposed to be onboarding her insurance plan. This is completely unacceptable so I can no longer keep her name off the campaign and ask that you reading this PLEASE help us finish our goal.
She is so loved by our Chico community, that I just know in my heart that once the public is aware that this is for our amazing Julee Rhiannon, aka Jigga Julee, aka DJ Jules, we will come together the way our town does to support those in their time.
Julee’s heart is huge and every time we go to our weekly Friday lunch, I’m always amazed how much she tips even when times are tight. If she could, she’d pay for everyone’s medical bills. Let’s please return this kindness and help with hers. If 100 people donated $100, this thing would be covered. Even if you can only spare a twenty, please do what you can to help my best friend. 🙏🏼🤍

To all of our Chico family: one of our own was recently diagnosed with cancer. Due to our current incompetent healthcare system, they ended up with $15,000 in medical bills that they’re on the hook for outside of insurance, and that’s unfortunately just the tip of the iceberg for now.
We want to help get their mind off of those bills and give them room to breathe and heal, so we have teamed up with Parkside Taphouse, Results Radio, and North Valley Community Foundation (NVCF) to launch a fundraiser dedicated to helping with these costs. This will be the first in a series of events to help others in our community similarly victimized by this financial burden during an already difficult fight against cancer.
Our 1st fundraiser has launched with a massive party which helped kickstart the campaign with an initial $2000 start up!
We still have a ways to go, so please donate, spread the word, and support however you can.
