The Path Toward Treatments & Cures
There are more than ten drug candidates in the therapeutic pipeline for mitochondrial disease, including four actively recruiting clinical trials. But it takes monumental effort to get these therapies to the finish line. Your gift today helps UMDF lead that charge, through things like hosting listening sessions with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, advocating on Capitol Hill for legislation to spur rare disease drug development, and initiatives like TREAT MITO, a UMDF-led consortium that brings together various stakeholders to organize and oversee a unified pipeline for mitochondrial disease therapies.
