The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) USA is collecting funds, which will then be transferred to Humanity First International to support their on the ground work in Gaza. They are delivering blankets, jackets, water, rice, flour, beans, sugar, and non-perishable food items, and are also working with partners ANERA and MAP to provide medical supplies.

The war in Gaza is having a catastrophic humanitarian impact on the population. Essentials such as food, water, medicine, hygiene, and shelter are in short supply. The United Nations reports that since 7 October, up to 1.9 million people (or over 85 per cent of the population) have been displaced across the Gaza Strip, some multiple times. Families are forced to move repeatedly in search of safety.

Humanity First works in coordination with the global humanitarian community through the UN Office of Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), their local team, and partners to ensure that the most urgent needs are addressed based on local need and the capacity to deliver those needs.

Working with teams in Gaza, West Bank, Jordan and Egypt, Humanity First works in coordination with the authorities in Egypt and Jordan to secure access for their trucks to bring in urgent food and shelter supplies to Gaza. As per past Humanity First projects, funds raised will also support long term development needs in the health, education, and WASH sectors. This Humanity First does with their own teams on the ground as well as existing partnerships with friends at ANERA and MAP.

Humanity First teams have been working hard in Egypt, the West Bank ,and Jordan in coordinating with relevant authorities to secure access for aid into Gaza As has been stated by the United Nations and NGOs working in Gaza the humanitarian aid operation is unfortunately an opportunistic one and only a small fraction of what is actually needed. Until there isn’t a ceasefire this situation continues to deteriorate.
