Frequently asked questions

“AFTD makes it easy to find the information I needed. The more knowledge I obtain, the more it makes me feel connected to a solution.”

Julia discovered AFTD after her husband was diagnosed with behavioral variant FTD (bvFTD) in 2022 - he was 56. To help in her new role as a care partner, Julia received an AFTD Comstock Grant to provide respite and utilized our resources to learn how to care for her husband. In March 2024, Julia ran the Los Angeles Marathon with her daughter to raise FTD awareness and funds in support of our mission.

You can support and empower all on this journey, like Julia and her family, by donating today. Your gift will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $25,000, thanks to our generous partner, the Milburn Foundation.
